Children and adults were invited to meet the creatures from the Museum's 'Black Lagoon' on a Microscope Safari during the May Bank Holiday Growing Families event.

Rather than dipping for the usual frogs, worms and beetles visitors hunted out some of the wonderful, weird and often strangely beautiful microscopic inhabitants of the Stacey Hill Farm pond.

Secret Seed Society at MKM

The Secret Seed Society will be promoted healthy eating for youngsters using story telling from their range of activity books as part of the Museum's Growing Families event at the May Bank Holiday weekend.

MKM Rallies the Old Mowers

Old Lawnmower Club members from all over the UK (and a few from overseas) were at the Museum for their annual rally over the 16^thMay weekend. More than 200 lawn mowers were on show and around 100 members attended. This was the Club's 21st annual rally sinceit was we founded at the first event in 1990. Some of the original faithful members were there again this year.

'Kester the Jester' at the Museum

Kester the Jester commanded rapt audiences of adults and children alike during the Museum's Tudor Weekend held on the Bank Holiday weekend, May 1^st - 3^rd .

Kester is the only person in over 350 years to be given the title of ‘State Jester’, he's the first official English Heritage Jester and the only jester who has been the subject of a parliamentary question! We look forward to seeing Kester and his circus performance stunts and gags again soon at forthcoming Museum events. Click on 'read more' to see some photos of kester in action.

Square Wheels Floating on Air

That innovative and controversial icon of the 70's, the Austin Allegro motor car, will be on display on Sunday the 16th May 2010 when the Allegro Club International hold thier National Event at the Museum.

A number of rare and interesting Allegro models will be on show. Some of us will have fond memories of the 'Quartic' steering wheel and futuristic 'Hydragas' suspension that characterised a British Car industry proud of traditional marks like Austin.
