MEDIAEVAL DAY: SATURDAY 30 MAY

11.00am-4.30pm
Mediaeval Day at Milton Keynes Museum.

Manorial Court
Attend the Court Proceedings and find out what punishments are given for particular offences. The Court will set at regular intervals and is run by Sun Jester.

Court Jester
Be entertained; learn some of his skills and try them out for yourself. Award-winning, local Kester the Jester.

Archer, Man at Arms and Serf
Try on helmets; feel the weight of armour and learn about mediaeval weapons. Re-enactment provided by Arriere-ban Historic Enterprises of Frylands Wood who are regular visitors to Milton Keynes.

Mediaeval Jailer
See some of his methods of punishment with Steve of local Live’n History.

Mediaeval Music
Songs and Music from the Mediaeval and Tudor Periods from Lumina.

Other Activities
Use a quill to write on a scroll, colour illuminated letters; make a heraldic shield or banner.

Exhibition
Original documents from the Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies including examples from Milton Keynes and Little Linford.

Blacksmith
See weapons being prepared.

This week-end is at the end of the School half–term holiday when the Museum has special activities every day.

All visitors to the Museum during Half-Term will be entitled to Free Entry to Mediaeval Day and Telephone Day.

And ………..

All those attending the Mediaeval Day will receive free admission to Telephone Day.

Normal Museum Prices apply for First Visit of the Week, then it’s free:

Concessions £4.00 (if your not sure, you are bound to be one)
