SCHOOL VISITS

WHY VISIT?

A visit to the Museum by a group of students is the most popular resource available to schools and colleges. Groups can visit the Museum any weekday morning during term time. Experienced teachers and Museum staff are available to give guided tours focusing on specific topics or themes. A hands-on approach is encouraged and pupils' questions determine the pace and level of the information provided.

A small charge is made for each visiting student, but reasonable numbers of accompanying teachers and assistants are admitted free.

Teachers are encouraged to visit the Museum in advance of any visit with study groups. See the Teacher Resources page for more information.

SPECIAL SUBJECTS

Some groups prefer to spend all their time going into one subject in detail. Special subjects normally relate to specific areas of the Museum and are only suitable for groups up to 12 in number.
